NEW YORK, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Southern East Pacific Rise at 21:20:53 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 53.1102 degrees south latitude and 117.3429 degrees west longitude. Enditem
