MOSCOW -- A total of 10 people were injured on Wednesday in an explosion at a supermarket in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, the Russian authorities said.

The Russian National Anti-terrorism Committee said in a press release that its operational headquarter is coordinating the activities of emergency services, security agencies and law enforcement forces, and that measures are taken to search for those involved in committing this crime. KIRKUK, Iraq -- Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday shot dead two intelligence members affiliated to the Iraqi Defense Ministry in the volatile city of Kirkuk, a local security source told Xinhua.

The attack took place in the afternoon when the gunmen opened fire on a car carrying the two intelligence members while driving on a highway in northern Kirkuk, some 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Intelligence)

HARARE -- Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday appointed Former Defense Forces commander Constantino Chiwenga and Defence, Security and War Veterans Minister Kembo Mohadi as the country's two vice presidents, with their swearing-in ceremony set for Thursday.

In a statement, Acting Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Christian Katsande said the appointment and swearing-in was in line with the Constitution. (Zimbabwe-President)

COPENHAGEN -- At least one Chinese died and over 10 others were seriously injured on Wednesday after a tour bus carrying more than 40 Chinese tourists skidded off the road and rolled over in southern Iceland, the Chinese embassy in Iceland said in a statement.

The accident took place at around 11:00 a.m. local time on the highway near Kirkjubaejarklaustur, some 250 km south of the capital Reykjavik, it said. (Copenhagen-Accident)

ANKARA -- At least nine members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed in airstrikes in northern Iraq, Turkish military said Wednesday.
