Xinhua,December 28, 2017 Adjust font size:

CHICAGO, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) grains closed mixed on Wednesday, with wheat futures ending higher as forecasts for an extended cold snap across the U.S. Plains raised crop-damage concerns.

Corn was following wheat higher, while soybeans settled lower.

The most active corn contract for March delivery went up 2 cents, or 0.57 percent, to 3.5125 dollars per bushel. March wheat delivery added 3.5 cents, or 0.83 percent, to 4.27 dollars per bushel. March soybeans fell 5.5 cents, or 0.57 percent to 9.59 dollars per bushel.

As for international market, Egypt's General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC) received 7 offers of Russian wheat and just 1 offer of Romanian wheat in an overnight tender for February 1-10 shipment.

China released final trade data for November overnight. China imported a record 8.7 million tonnes of soybeans with the U.S. supplying 4.66 million tonnes. China also imported 155,817 tonnes of wheat and 21,756 tonnes of corn. For the calendar year to date, China has imported 22 percent more wheat and 11 percent more soybeans than 2016. Enditem
