Spanish shares drop 0.16 pct Wednesday

MADRID, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 0.16 percent, or 16.80 points, to close at 10,165.20 points.

A total of 16 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Spain's second-largest bank BBVA went down 0.69 percent, followed by media company Mediaset and Spain's largest bank Banco Santander that lost 0.68 percent and 0.61 percent respectively.

Engineering and infrastructure company Tecnicas Reunidas advanced 1.97 percent, being the top gainer of the blue chips. Real estate sector company Inmobiliaria colonial was up 1.95 percent and supermarket chain DIA was up 1.69 percent. Enditem
