British stocks up 0.37 pct Wednesday

LONDON, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.37 percent, or 28.02 points, to close at 7,620.68 points.

Fresnillo, the international mining group, soared 3.48 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. NMC Health and Mediclinic International increased by 3.09 percent and 2.49 percent, respectively.

The heating and plumbing products business Ferguson was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.84 percent. Sky, the Europe's leading broadcasting and entertainment company, dropped 1.48 percent. Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British pre-eminent engineering company, dropped 1.16 percent. Enditem
