2017 Hainan Chess Open concludes in Sanya

HAIKOU, China, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- The "Belt and Road" 2017 Hainan Chess Open concluded on Tuesday in Sanya, South China's Hainan province. China's Zhou Jianchao and Zhang Lanlin won the championship in each group.

On the last day of the game, Zhou overwhelmed his opponent Wen Yang and finally claimed the title with four consecutive wins. China's Bai Jinshi won the runner-up and India's Sandipan Chanda got the third place.

In the other group, the female player Zhang Lanlin was lucky to gain the title and Sugeng Prasetyo of Indonesia won the runner-up.

Kicking off on Dec. 17, the Hainan Chess Open featured some 60 players from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, the United States, Ukraine and host China to vie for a total prize of 380,000 RMB (about 57,000 US dollars). Enditem
