French shares drop 0.39 pct on Friday

PARIS, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged down on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.39 percent, or 21.25 points, to close at 5,364.72 points.

A total of 12 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing services advanced 0.89 percent, while French international retailer Carrefour rose by 0.80 percent. French ophthalmic lenses producer Essilor gained 0.70 percent.

The global Luxury group Kering went down by 1.34 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French life service company Sodexo edged down 1.32 percent. Another French luxury group LVMH lost 1.17 percent. Enditem
