German shares close flat Thursday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed flat on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 40.57 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 13,109.74 points.

European health care company Fresenius SE won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 1.30 percent. Automotive manufacturer BMW and European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 rose by 1.05 percent and 1.03 percent respectively.

Energy group RWE lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.56 percent. Housing association Vonovia and personal-care company Beiersdorf went down by 1.17 percent and 0.97 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 198.81 million euros (235.76 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
