Bomb warning at Baku railway station turns out to be hoax

Xinhua,December 22, 2017 Adjust font size:

BAKU, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- An anonymous call threatening about an explosive device planted at Azerbaijan capital Baku's railway station turned out to be a hoax, officials said on Thursday.

"Information about the explosive device at the Baku railway station turned out to be a false alarm," spokesperson for the Azerbaijan Railways, Sevinj Gadirova, told reporters.

She said the Ministry of Emergency Situations together with the Baku Police launched a search at the station thoroughly and no explosive devices were found during the search.

After remaining disrupted for several hours, the booking office at the railway station has resumed its work.

Earlier local media reported that the Department of Road Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan received a call about an explosive device at the Baku railway station's cafe. The sale of tickets was stopped at the station and people were evacuated due to security reasons. Enditem
