French shares gain 0.62 pct Thursday

PARIS, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.62 percent, or 33.20 points, to close at 5,385.97 points.

A total of 35 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

International leader in oil and gas projects and technologies Technipfmc advanced 4.42 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal rose 2.00 percent, and International French multinational luxury group Kering gained 1.86 percent.

European IT services corporation Atos went down by 1.01 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French banking company Credit Agricole edged down 0.39 percent and French tire group Michelin lost 0.12 percent. Enditem
