Stuttgart's Terrode rejoins Cologne

Xinhua,December 21, 2017 Adjust font size:

BERLIN, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Stuttgart's Simon Terrode joins his former club Cologne with immediate effect, both sides confirmed in official statements on Wednesday.

Cologne wrapped up their first winter signing as striker Terodde penned a deal until June 2021. The new arrival received the jersey number 9.

"Simon Terodde is a physically strong striker who has proven his finishing qualities over the years. He is a really good guy and has a very good goal rate," Cologne's sporting director Armin Veh said.

The 29-year-old striker has large shares on Stuttgart's promotion as he provided seven assists and 27 goals in 47 competitive appearances.

"I had two very nice years in Cologne and I am very happy to return. Here I took my first steps in professional football. Of course we have a tough task ahead of us but we will try our best to maintain the top-flight status," Terodde said.

Cologne sit currently in the Bundesliga bottom with 11 points to safety. However, the "Billy Goats" have 17 games to turn things around. Enditem
