WASHINGTON -- The U.S. House of Representatives will have to vote again on the Republican tax bill on Wednesday as some provisions in the bill didn't comply with Senate budget rules.

The Senate parliamentarian has advised that three provisions in the Republican tax bill, which passed the House Tuesday afternoon, violate the so-called Byrd rule, according to Bernie Sanders, ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee. (US-Tax Bill-House)

DAMASCUS -- Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem on Tuesday accused the United States of supporting the terror groups in Syria to prolong the crisis and undermine the victories of the Syrian army, according to state news agency SANA.

SULAIMANIYAH -- Five people were killed and 96 injured Tuesday in demonstrations in Iraq's semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan amid widespread anger over unpaid salaries and corruption, medical source told Xinhua.

The heavy casualties occurred in the town of Rania in Sulaimaniyah province when the security forces opened fire and used tear gas after protesters torched offices of the Kurdish parties, leaving five people killed and some 80 others wounded, Taha Mohammed, spokesman of the town's health office, told reporters. MEXICO CITY -- At least 11 tourists traveling to the Mayan ruins in southeast Mexico died in an accident early Tuesday when their bus overturned, authorities said.

Many of the remaining 20 tourists were injured in the tragedy, which took place at 10 a.m. local time as the bus traveled along Mexico's Caribbean coast, near the resort of Mahahual in the state of Quintana Roo. (Mexico-Crash-Tourists) Enditem
