ANKARA, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Turkish security forces detained 51 suspects linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in western Izmir province, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Tuesday.
The counterterrorism operation was launched by police in coordination with the National Intelligence Organization in five districts of Izmir province.
Security forces captured documents and digital equipment as well as a shotgun during the raids.
A total of 65 arrest warrants were issued by Izmir's Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as the part of national anti-terrorism efforts.
Last week, 148 PKK members were arrested, according to a statement released by Turkey's Interior Ministry on Monday.
A senior PKK member Murat Dag, who is on the Turkish Interior Ministry's list of most wanted terrorists with a bounty of 1 million lira (260,000 USD), was also killed.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015 after a brief reconciliation period. Enditem
