Etihad Airways to suspend flights between Abu Dhabi and Tehran since Jan. 24

Xinhua,December 20, 2017 Adjust font size:

DUBAI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced Wednesday a reduction of its flights on the Abu Dhabi-Tehran route since Dec. 25 and full suspension since Jan. 24.

Etihad Airways said in a statement that the airline will cut its flights between Dec. 25, 2017 and Jan. 23, 2018 from five flights to two flights a week.

The company expressed its apologies to its guests for any inconvenience caused by these changes.

The UAE has condemned in a statement the Iran-backed Houthis' attack on Tuesday targeting Riyadh with a ballistic missile from Yemen, especially "the negative and dangerous role played by Iran and the supporter of the Houthi group."

"This cowardly attack once again raises the dangerous and negative role played by the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of these coup militias and its aggressive practices by providing the Houthi group with ballistic missiles that threaten peace and security in the region," the statement said.
