Vietnamese, Lao leaders vow to improve bilateral cooperation

HANOI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam and Laos should strengthen coordination in implementing development strategies, party top leaders of the two countries said here on Tuesday.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and visiting General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, also President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith, made the statement during their talks in Hanoi.

The two sides will spare no efforts to deepen their political ties and increase experience-sharing in building the party as well as boosting socioeconomic development and international integration, Vietnam News Agency reported.

After the talks, the host and the guest witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Vietnamese and Lao governments on the construction of the Lao National Assembly building.

The Lao leader is paying an official visit to Vietnam from Tuesday to Thursday, the second of its kind during his tenure of 2016-2021. Enditem
