Dollar stays in mid-112 yen zone on weak stocks

TOKYO, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar hovered in the mid-112 yen zone Tuesday in Tokyo on the weak performance of Japanese stocks.

At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 112.51-52 yen compared with 112.49-59 yen in New York and 112.67-68 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday. It moved between 112.52 yen and 112.66 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1805-1807 dollars and 132.82-86 yen against 1.1777-1787 dollars and 132.54-64 yen in New York and 1.1780-1781 dollars and 132.73-77 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon. Enditem
