ANKARA, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- A Russian delegation visited Ankara on Monday to investigate the murder of Russian Ambassador Andrey Karlov in Ankara last December.

The delegation consists of a prosecutor, diplomats, members of the emergency ministry and forensic experts, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The members of delegation received information from prosecution authorities about the investigation into Karlov's assassination at the Ankara court.

Andrey Karlov was killed by an off-duty police officer as he was delivering a speech at an art exhibition in the Turkish capital on Dec.19, 2016.

The murderer, Mevlut Mert Altintas, was later shot dead in an exchange of fire with security personnel.

Some five people have been detained so far, including three police officers and Guru Media Broadcast Group Chairman Hayreddin Aydinbas. Enditem
