KATHMANDU, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Leaders from various political parties in Nepal said here on Monday that they were inspired with the visions and strategies chalked out by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held in Beijing in October.
Speaking to Xinhua on the sidelines of an event organized by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the Nepali leaders said that the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is important for the socio-economic development of China.
The event was organized to brief Nepali leaders, local media and experts on the visions and strategies introduced at the 19th CPC National Congress.
"We too should learn from their (the CPC's) development in the changing course of time," said Yubaraj Gyawali, vice chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (United Marxist Leninist).
"I believe that there should be more interaction and exchanges between China's CPC and our party," he said.
Sobhakar Parajuli, a leader from Nepali Congress Party, said he was impressed by the visions and strategies put forth by the Chinese leadership too.
"We heard a lot about the conclusions of the 19th National Congress of the CPC through various media. It is a good opportunity for us to learn about it from the Chinese experts," he said.
Lekhnath Neupane, a leader from the Communist Party of Nepal Maoist Center, noted that China has envisioned building a community of common destiny, saying that "I hope China will continue to promote world peace and will develop a new type of international relations."
On the occasion, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Wang Weiguang, who is currently visiting Nepal, shed light on the major strategies and visions put forth at the 19th CPC National Congress.
China wants to have friendly relationship with neighboring countries including Nepal on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, said Wang.
He highlighted that the CPC added the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to its Constitution.
"It will be an era of securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and of moving on to all-out efforts to build a great modern socialist country," he said.
Wang said the 19th CPC National Congress has adopted various strategies to basically realize socialist modernization in China by 2035 and turn China into a great modern socialist country by 2050. Enditem
