XINING, China, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- China's men curlers outplayed their rivals to rank first among the nine teams while their women compatriots placed second overall at the ongoing Qinghai International Curling Elite on Monday.

After the 6th round matches on Monday, the Chinese men's team led the table with a 5-1 win-loss record, while its women's team placed second, after Russia.

"This tournament is a tune-up for us before the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. I think the result is less important than the experience for us," said Wang Bingyu, the skip of the Chinese women's team.

The tournament started on Dec. 15 at Duoba National Highland Sports Training Base in northwest China's Qinghai province, attracting 18 teams from nine countries and regions including Canada, the United States, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Scotland, Russia, Italy and China. Enditem
