Afghan president accepts resignation of Balkgh governor

KABUL, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has accepted resignation of Ata Mohammad Noor, the governor of northern Balkh province.

Noor was replaced by Mohammad Dawood, said a statement from the Presidential Palace on Monday.

According to the statement, Noor had resigned from his position as the governor of Balkh province a while ago and the president has appointed Mohammad Dawood as new governor for the relatively peaceful Balkh province. Enditem
