HOUSTON, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The number of active oil and natural-gas rigs in the United States fell this week, reversing a recent rebound, according to weekly data collected by Baker Hughes released on Friday.

The U.S. rig count is down one from last week to 930, with oil rigs down four and gas rigs up three.Currently there are a total of 747 drilling rigs.

The national rig count remains below the July peak of 958, but is well above the nadir of 404 rigs in May 2016.

The Permian basin, the main oil production area in the United States, lost three oil rigs, compared with last week's rise of three. This contributes to Texas' net loss of two rigs. New Mexico and Louisiana also lost rigs. Enditem
