Presidents of Arab Parliaments convene in Morocco over Jerusalem

Xinhua,December 14, 2017 Adjust font size:

RABAT, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Presidents of Arab Parliaments met in the Moroccan capital Rabat on Thursday to discuss U.S. decision to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Speaking at the opening of this meeting, the president of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), Lhabib El Malki, strongly condemned U.S. decision, describing it as "flagrant violation" of international law and legacy.

He said that decision is "isolated politically, diplomatically and ethically," highlighting the international consensus on refusing the U.S. move.

El Malki also warned against the consequences of this decision on peace and security in the region.

Set up in 1974, the AIPU is an Arab organization composed of parliamentary groups representing Arab Parliaments. Enditem
