NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted 82 km WNW of Bouvet Island at 18:03:43 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 15.12 km, was initially determined to be at 54.21 degrees south latitude and 2.14 degrees east longitude. Enditem
