JINAN, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng F.C. confirmed that they completed the signing of Brazilian Fabio Lefundes as assistant coach here on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old Lefundes began his coaching career in 1995. He spent most of his early coaching life in Brazil before moving to Asia in 2007. In 2011, he came to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors as a fitness coach.

Famous for his fitness speciality, Lefundes contributed a lot to Jeonbuk Hyundai's K-League champion experience in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2017, and winner of 2016 AFC Champions League.

It was said that Lefundes will occupy the assistant coach position while mainly in charge of the fitness program of Luneng.

Former Chinese men's international Li Xiaopeng was named the head coach of Luneng, replacing German manager Felix Magath earlier this month. Luneng finished in sixth position last season. Enditem
