Tokyo stocks close lower amid caution ahead of FOMC outcome

TOKYO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Wednesday as investors remained circumspect ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's two-day Federal Open Market Committee FOMC) meeting's conclusion later in the day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 108.10 points, or 0.47 percent, from Tuesday to close the day at 22,758.07.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 4.24 points, or 0.23 percent, to finish at 1,810.84.

Rubber product, machinery and electric appliance-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play. Enditem
