MEXICO CITY, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed and 12 others injured after two trucks crashed on early Tuesday in central Mexican state of Puebla, according to local press.

The victims include pilgrims returning to a small community in the city of Huejotzingo after visiting the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City to celebrate the feast day on Dec. 12.

Eight people were killed at the scene on the highway connecting the capital with the Puebla city and three people died in hospital, according to a local media report.
