VIENNA, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and at least 17 others were injured Tuesday in an explosion at a gas station in Baumgarten an der March, some 60 km east of Vienna, local media said.

Fire brigades and rescue teams are at the site, which has been largely closed to the public.

The blast occurred in the morning at a gas station of international energy company OMV, not far from the border with Slovakia. It set off a fire which could be seen from the Vienna side. Enditem
