South China police seize 20 kg of crystal meth

Xinhua,December 12, 2017 Adjust font size:

NANNING, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Police in south China's Fangchenggang City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said Tuesday that they had seized nearly 20 kilograms of methamphetamine, detaining one suspect.

Local police were informed in August that a man planned to traffic a considerable amount of drugs from neighboring Guangdong Province to Guangxi.

An investigation showed that the suspect would take a long-distance coach around Sept. 9. The police succeeded in intercepting the coach on the day and seized 20 bags of crystal meth weighing about 20 kg, which the owner claimed were "auto parts."

The suspect said a man under the code name "Squirrel" asked him to pick up the "auto parts" in Guangdong over the phone, and he did not see "Squirrel" in person.

Further investigation is under way. Enditem
