Britain's SDX Energy announces gas discovery onshore Morocco

Xinhua,December 12, 2017 Adjust font size:

RABAT, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- The British company SDX Energy announced on Monday a new gas discovery in an onshore drilling operation conducted near the coastal Moroccan city of Kenitra, 40 km to the north of Rabat.

The well named KSR-16, was drilled to a depth of 1,896 meters and encountered total net conventional gas pay of some 14.2 meters, SDX Energy said in a statement.

"We are pleased to make another discovery during our ongoing well drilling campaign, with this well exceeding our pre-drill net pay estimates by more than 50 percent," the statement said.

The new well will be connected to nearby production infrastructure within the next 30 days.

Last November, the British company announced another gas discovery in a well named KSR-15.

The company added that the previous well, KSR-15, has now been connected to the infrastructure and test production is anticipated early next week.

"Our drilling activity in Morocco is off to an excellent start and provides us with renewed confidence in the overall program," it noted. Enditem
