Belarusian president ready to turn country into harbor for IT-business

MINSK, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Belarus must accept the digital reality and make the most of all the opportunities it offers to the country, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Monday.

Speaking at a meeting discussing the draft decree "On the Development of Digital Economy", Lukashenko said Belarus can become at least a regional leader in the development of advanced technologies - artificial intelligence, large data and blockchain technology.

Belarusian domestic IT-sphere needs a new impetus for development, so that capable people could realize their opportunities to the full, the president stressed.

The draft decree "On the Development of Digital Economy" includes support for product models, expansion of activities of residents of the Belarusian High-Tech Park, IT-education, development of blockchain technology. Experts expect the decree to be signed before the end of 2017. Enditem
