2017 Youth Sailing World Championships kick off in Sanya

SANYA, China, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 Youth Sailing World Championships kicked off on Dec. 12 in Sanya, a city of south China's Hainan Province.

A total of 380 sailors from 60 countries and regions are competing in the championships, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia, etc.

The six-day championships feature nine events, namely boy's and girl's single Laser Radial, boy's and girl's 29er, boy's and girl's 420, boy's and girl's RS: X and Nacra 15.

The first day saw Chinese sailor Yu Ting leading the table of the girl's RS:X.

In the boy's RS:X, Chinese sailor Chen Hao, the titlist of 2017 National Youth Sailing Championships, ranked the second, following Yoav Cohen of Isreal.

The most fierce competition came from the Laser Radial event. Charlotte Rose of the United States surpassed the defending champion Dolores Moreira of Uruguay and Guido Gallinaro of Italy to top the ranking in the boy's event. Enditem
