JERUSALEM -- An Israeli security guard was seriously wounded Sunday by a Palestinian knifeman outside Jerusalem's central bus station, the police said.
The suspect, a 24-year-old Palestinian resident of the West Bank, stabbed the security guard and fled the scene, said a police statement, describing it as a "terror attack."

MANILA -- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will ask the Congress for a one-year extension of martial law in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, Rodolfo Farinas, majority leader in the House of Representatives said on Sunday.
Duterte imposed a 60-day martial law in the southern region in May when Islamist extremists laid siege to Marawi City triggering a five-month war between government security forces and the pro-Islamic State (IS) militants.

CAIRO -- Arab foreign ministers declared early on Sunday that the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital is illegal, warning further violence in the region.
The ministers from member-states of the Arab League held a prolonged urgent meeting in Cairo started in Saturday evening, and urged the United States to withdraw its decision, describing the move as a violation of the international law.
