KABUL, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with visiting Turkmenistan foreign minister Rashid Meredov in Kabul on Saturday morning, the Afghan Presidential Palace said.

"Turkmenistan is ready to support and contribute in the regional economic projects," the palace quoted Meredov as saying in a statement.

The Afghan president expressed his gratitude over Turkmenistan's support to regional economic projects including the mega TAPI project that enables Turkmenistan's natural gas to reach India via Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Ghani also said that he is looking forward to launching the practical work of the mega natural gas project on Afghan soil. Enditem
