Xinhua,December 09, 2017 Adjust font size:

HELSINKI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two persons were missing Friday evening when a pilot delivery boat capsized near the Porvoo lighthouse in high seas in the Gulf of Finland, media reported.

The accident took place at 5 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), when a pilot was to climb down from Norwegian tanker Sten Nordic that had sailed out from the port of Porvoo, said Finnish national broadcaster Yle.

The weather was stormy. The cause of the accident and the fate of the missing persons remains unknown.

The capsized boat remained on the surface upside down. Several Finnish coast guard vessels were on the scene, said Yle.

Piloting services in Finland are handled by the wholly state-owned company Finnish Pilotage. Enditem
