Namibia U-20's see off Angola in Cosafa Championships

WINDHOEK, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Namibia kicked off their campaign of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Under-20 Championship with a 1-0 victory over Angola in Group C on Friday at the Arthur Davis Stadium in Kitwe, Zambia.

Namibian striker Enzo Mungendje scored the only goal in 14 minutes to see off neighbors Angola, settling on top of Group C with three points while Lesotho and Zimbabwe sit on second place following their draw on Thursday.

"It is good to start with a win, especially given the fact that the other group game ended in a draw so we knew what we needed to do. The score-line could have been more goals for us and we will have to improve on that ahead of our next game," said Namibia's coach Gerhard Gunther in a statement.

After the Lesotho game at Nkana Stadium, Namibia will conclude Group C action against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Enditem
