UN under-secretary-general tours DPRK institutions

PYONGYANG, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Jeffrey Feltman, the United Nations (UN) under-secretary-general for political affairs, visited foodstuff producer and medical institutions in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday, said the official Korean Central News Agency.

Feltman, a former U.S. diplomat, visited the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory and toured the Breast Tumor Institute of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and the Preventive Hospital No. 3 of the Ministry of Public Health, according to the news agency.

He also held talks with the DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho in central Pyongyang on Thursday.

Feltman arrived here on Tuesday for a four-day visit. He is scheduled to leave Pyongyang on Saturday. Enditem
