Indian police bust fake education board, arrest 6

Xinhua,December 08, 2017 Adjust font size:

NEW DELHI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Indian police on Friday claimed to have busted a fake education board operating out of the national capital, with the arrest of six suspects.

"The accused had been running the fake Board of Higher Secondary Education in Shahdara area since 2012," Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police Nupur Prasad told the media.

Police have also seized some 15,000 fake marksheets of 17 different boards and universities across India from the possession of the suspects.

Officials said the fake board was busted after police received several complaints that the accused had been duping students of money by luring them.

On its website, the fake Board of Higher Secondary Education claims to be an autonomous one that is recognised by the Indian Human Resource Development Ministry.

"Strict actions will be taken against any such fake boards playing with the lives of young students," said an education official. Enditem
