British stocks down 0.37 pct Thursday

LONDON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.37 percent, or 27.28 points, to close at 7,320.75 points.

Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, soared 2.22 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. BT Group and Mediclinic International increased by 2.16 percent and 2.02 percent, respectively.

Admiral Group, a motor insurance company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.59 percent. Babcock International Group, a British multinational holding company, dropped 2.48 percent. Associated British Foods, a British multinational food processing and retailing company, fell 2.33 percent.
