Indonesia strongly condemns U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israeli capital

BOGOR, Indonesia, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Thursday strongly condemned the decision of the U.S. government to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel which may disturb the world's stability.

"Indonesia strongly condemns the United States' unilateral recognition of Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel," President Widodo said at the presidential palace.

Indonesia asked the United States to reconsider the decision as it is against the United Nations' resolution and could disturb the world's security stability said Widodo.

President Widodo stressed that he and the Indonesian people have been consistent to continuously supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people for independence. Enditem
