German shares lose 0.38 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down by 49.69 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 12,998.85 points.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.79 percent, followed by Deutsche Post and Commerzbank, which lost 2.27 percent and 2.22 percent respectively.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1, health care company Fresenius SE and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group were the top three winners, rising by 2.74 percent, 1.46 percent and 1.25 percent respectively.

German multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 283.80 million euros (335.36 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
