Singaporean stocks close 1.19 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 1.19 percent or 40.85 points to close at 3,397.21.

A total of 1.92 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.23 billion Singapore dollars (about 919.2 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 285 to 145.

The STI index closed down 0.01 percent or 0.41 points to close at 3,438.06 on Tuesday. Enditem
