CAPE TOWN, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Wednesday:

-- South Africans must choose a new crop of leaders that will stand with those who liberated the country, late president Nelson Mandela's wife Graça Machel said on Tuesday.

-- South Africa's economy grew by two percent in the third quarter of 2017, on the back of a strong performance in the agricultural sector.

In his first address as South Africa's new Statistician General, Risenga Maluleke said on Tuesday that the largest contributor to growth in the third quarter was agriculture, with a 44.2 percent share.(Fin24)

-- Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi announced on Tuesday that more than 30 people have died following an outbreak of Listeriosis.
