Dortmund forward Philipp sidelined for months due to knee injury

BERLIN, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Borussia Dortmund announced Tuesday that their forward Maximilian Philipp had sustained an injury to his knee.

The injuries would make the 23-year-old youngster away from the field for a number of months.

The Bundesliga powerhouse spoke only of "a severe knee injury which includes the knee cap." in their announcement on the website. Philipp suffered the injury in the 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Germany attacker came to Dortmund in summer from Freiburg and scored 6 goals in 11 Bundesliga matches. Enditem
