Indonesian lifters set 1-gold target in Asian Games

JAKARTA, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Athletes of weightlifting in Indonesia are eyeing one gold medal in the 18th Asian Games in the country next year, manager disclosed here on Tuesday.

Manager of the Indonesian team Alamsyah Wijaya said that preparation has been conducted earlier as an effort to achieve the target

"Preparation has been undertaken including physics and strength. Then when the event is close, we will focus on exercising mental of the athletes," he was quoted by Tempo media as saying.

Wijaya admitted that competition in the sport will be tough, saying some nations as strong contenders.

"Our toughest opponent in the Southeast Asia is Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan," Wijaya said.

The upcoming Asian Games will be played in Indonesia's capital and Palembang city of South Sumatra from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2. Enditem
