British stocks up 0.53 pct Monday

LONDON, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.53 percent, or 38.48 points, to close at 7,338.97 points.

ConvaTec Group, a multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company, soared 3.51 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Sky and Ashtead Group increased by 2.80 percent and 2.63 percent respectively.

The international mining group Fresnillo was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.68 percent. Randgold Resources, a major multinational metal company, dropped 1.23 percent, and Mondi, an international packaging and paper group, dropped 1.21 percent. Enditem
