EU commissioner urges BiH to answer EU accession questionnaire

SARAJEVO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) government should answer the EU accession questionnaire as soon as possible, European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn said here on Monday.

Hahn made the comment after a meeting with Denis Zvizdic, BiH Chairman of Council of Ministers. He stressed that the EU is committed to support BiH on its EU integration path.

Hahn handed the EU questionnaire to the BiH government on the country's readiness to join the bloc on Dec. 9, 2016.

The questionnaire will assess BiH's economy, compliance with human rights, the rule of law and other obligations required of countries wishing to become EU member states.

On Feb. 15, 2016, BiH formally submitted its application to join the EU, which was accepted on Sept. 20, 2016. Enditem
