Tokyo shares inch down in morning on U.S. political chaos

TOKYO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares inched down Monday morning on reports about Russia's alleged involvement in U.S. President Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 44.65 points, or 0.20 percent, from Friday to 22,774.38.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.60 points, or 0.09 percent, to 1,794.93.

Decliners were led by nonferrous metal, marine transportation and machinery issues. Enditem
