TEHRAN -- Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that countries in the region should recognize each other's interests and resolve disputes through dialogue.

"We believe that if there is a problem in the region, it can be solved through negotiation, and we do not need weapons and the intervention of world powers to resolve it," Rouhani was quoted by Press TV as saying. (Iran-Rouhani-Dialogue)

CAIRO -- An Egyptian-European archeological mission has discovered a collection of 27 statues of ancient Egyptian lioness goddess Sekhmet, authorities said Sunday.

The discovery was made near the Pharaonic King Amenhotep III Temple on the west bank of Upper Egypt's Luxor city, the Egyptian Antiquities Ministry said in a statement. (Egypt-Archeological Mission)

SANAA -- A fire ripped through the Iranian embassy in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Sunday during clashes between the Houthis and loyalists of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, a Xinhua reporter on the scene witnessed.

The fire broke out after the embassy was attacked by heavy weapons, but it remained unknown who were responsible for the incident. (Iran-Yemen-Embassy Fire)

CAIRO -- The Arab League (AL) warned on Sunday against the "hazardous consequences" if the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"If implemented, it would mark a change in Washington's historical stance that sees the holy city as an occupied Palestinian city and an integral part of the occupied Palestinian lands," Saeed Abu-Ali, AL assistant secretary general for the occupied Palestinian and Arab lands, said in the statement.
