160,000 Chinese drivers investigated for dangerous driving

BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- A total of 160,000 Chinese drivers were investigated for alleged reckless driving from January to October, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
More than 99 percent of the cases were related to drunk driving and 59,000 of the drivers faced criminal charges after they were proved guilty, the ministry said in a statement.
Over 84 percent of the dangerous driving cases were reported between midnight to 3:00 a.m. and more than 57 percent of the drivers were aged from 20 to 40, according to traffic police.
Drivers aged from 40 to 60 accounted for 40 percent of the total.
The ministry also exposed 10 typical cases of dangerous driving in order to raise driver awareness. Enditem
