JERUSALEM -- An Israeli soldier was stabbed to death in southern Israel on Thursday night in an apparent "terror attack," the police said on Friday.

A military statement identified the victim as Ron Yitzhak Kukia, a 19-year-old soldier from Tel Aviv who served in the "Nahal Brigade," an infantry brigade whose main base is located outside the southern city of Arad. (Israel-Palestinians)

TEHRAN -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude hit Iran's southeast town of Hejadk on Friday, injuring 52 people, Iran's state TV reported.

The quake hit some 58 km northeast of Kerman city in Kerman province, with a shallow depth of 10 km. (Iran-Earthquake)

ISTANBUL -- The Turkish authorities on Friday issued an arrest warrant for Graham Fuller, a former official with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), over his alleged role in a coup attempt in Turkey last year, local media said.

Fuller was allegedly in Turkey when the country was jolted by a coup bid launched by some in the military on the night of July 15, 2016 and left after the attempt failed hours later, the Hurriyet Daily News said, citing the arrest warrant. (Turkey-CIA-Coup Bid)

ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan launched Friday a 1.5-million-lira (380,000 U.S. dollars) lawsuit against Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of the main opposition People's Republican Party (CHP).

On Tuesday, Kilicdaroglu presented banking documents in a parliamentary meeting, accusing Erdogan's close circle of transferring U.S. dollars to an offshore company, in order to "either launder money or evade tax." (Turkey-Erdogan-Lawsuit) Enditem
